Another busy day in the rugby union game as star second-row Maro Itoje followed many of his team-mates in committing his long-term future to Saracens.

After Elliot Daly, Jamie George and the two Vunipolas, Mako and Billy, committed to Championship-bound Saracens, Maro Itoje has followed suit. The Londoners were relegated from the Premiership for salary cap breaches, leading to doubts as to the future of their best players, but the majority have decided to remain.
In the southern hemisphere, the Reds continued their fine start to Super Rugby AU by overcoming a stubborn Western Force outfit in Brisbane. This was their second victory of the competition and you can check out highlights of the game here.
Meanwhile, Video of the Week centres on the outstanding former All Black Sonny Bill Williams, who helped New Zealand to successive World Cup titles in 2011 and 2015.
What’s in the news
Eddie Jones has insisted that he will remain as England head coach until the end of the 2023 World Cup. Despite signing a new deal earlier this year, there have been rumours that Jones will depart, with a number of Australian rugby league clubs reportedly interested in his services.
Elsewhere, New Zealand Rugby are in talks about a new Super Rugby model, which will exclude teams from South Africa and Argentina. They will instead look to Australia and the Pacific Islands to complete the competition.
Finally, the Ospreys have signed former Northampton Saints fly-half Stephen Myler on a one-year deal. The 35-year-old will add plenty of experience having helped the Saints to a Premiership and Challenge Cup double in 2014.

It’s another week of Super Rugby AU and Aotearoa fixtures on Sky Sports, and the action kicked off earlier today with the Reds v Force. On Saturday it’s the Hurricanes v Blues before the Waratahs tackle the Brumbies. Sunday sees the Chiefs face the Highlanders.
